What’s new in Praxis. We’re building openly while in private development. Here’s how the product is taking shape.
v0.28.1Fixed
Changing plan works properly
If you are already on a paid plan and switch to another one, we now move your existing subscription instead of starting a second one, so you are never billed twice. Any difference for the rest of the month appears on your next invoice.
Switching plan from the Stripe billing portal now updates your plan in Praxis straight away.
v0.28.0New
Top up your AI usage, and clearer billing
You can now buy extra AI usage yourself from Settings then Billing, instead of raising a support ticket. Each top-up tells you how much more usage it adds compared with your usual month, and anything left carries over for 12 months.
If a bigger monthly allowance would suit you better, the page says so and offers the upgrade first.
If a payment ever fails, you will now see it clearly on the Billing page with a direct route to update your card.
If a paid plan ends, your account moves to the free Solo plan rather than being left without one.
v0.27.0New
Billing, in your own hands
There is now a Billing page under Settings: see the plan you are on, change it, and manage everything yourself.
Payments run through Stripe, so Praxis never sees or stores your card details. From the billing portal you can update your card, download invoices, or cancel. If you cancel, you keep your plan until the end of the period you have paid for.
v0.26.1Improved
Phone recording: templates, context and tighter codes
When you record from your phone, you can now pick a note template and add context before generating the notes on your desktop, exactly as you can when recording in the browser.
Pairing codes are tighter: a code nobody scans now cancels itself after 10 minutes, codes last 8 hours instead of 24, and if a second phone ever tried to join your recording it is ignored and you are told.
v0.26.0New
Record on your phone, notes on your desktop
The Voice Transcriber can now use your phone as the microphone: press "Record from my phone" on your desktop, scan the QR code, and record instantly, no sign-in needed on the phone. The live transcript appears on your desktop as you speak, ready to turn into clinical notes there.
Scanning the code on your own screen is what proves it is you: each QR works for one recording, expires after 24 hours, and "Reset phone connection" on your desktop kills every old code on the spot. The phone can disconnect from its side too. As ever, Praxis stores no audio and no transcript.
v0.25.15Improved
Morning Breakdown, your schedule and a clearer view
You can now choose how often the Morning Breakdown arrives (every day, every 2 days, once a week, once every 2 weeks, or off) and what time of day it lands, all from Settings then Emails.
The email shows your progress as filling bars, just like the dashboard: your monthly income target, conversion, and NHS UDA progress where it applies, summarised in one easy glance.
If you have not connected a practice yet, the email now explains simply how to get started and what you will get, in about a minute.
v0.25.14Improved
Calmer dashboard insights
Your dashboard alerts (conversion, unbooked patients and the like) are now one tidy "Insights" card that stays collapsed until you open it, instead of a stack of banners on every visit.
New Snooze option: hide the insights for 7 or 30 days. The snooze is remembered on all your devices, not just the browser you are on.
v0.25.13Fixed
Clinical notes back to full detail
Clinical notes are detailed and thorough again. A recent change had made them too brief, so the default note format is back to its fuller, structured version. Patient letters stay concise.
v0.25.12New
Your own note templates, and standing assumptions
The Voice Transcriber now lets you pick a note template before generating. Save your own note structures and choose which one to use, and the notes follow that structure. Create and manage them from the same menu.
Set your standing assumptions once (for example "medical history checked, no changes") and every clinical note records them as standard, unless the recording says otherwise. No need to say the routine checks out loud each time.
v0.25.11New
Add context before generating clinical notes
After you stop recording, you can now add a note of context before generating clinical notes: materials and shades used, fees discussed, consent points, anything the transcript missed. The notes come out right the first time, with fewer edits.
v0.25.10Improved
Shorter, sharper letters and notes
Patient letters are now concise and easy to read. They match the length of what was actually discussed instead of running to many pages, and even complex cases stay within four to five pages.
Clinical notes and letters read more naturally and are tailored to each appointment, with less repetition and padding, so a routine visit produces a short note and a bigger case produces a fuller one.
v0.25.9Improved
Wording and punctuation polish
Tidied up the wording and punctuation of alerts and messages across the app for cleaner, more consistent reading.
v0.25.8New
Dictate your letters, and go from notes to letter in one place
Patient Letters now has a "Voice" option next to "Exam notes" and "Patient history": dictate the letter content out loud and the transcript fills in for you to edit before generating.
On the Voice Transcriber, once you have generated clinical notes you can now turn them straight into a patient letter on the same page, so your whole record-to-letter flow lives in one place.
v0.25.7New
Copy your transcript in one click
A "Copy transcript" button now sits next to the live transcript, so you can copy it and paste it wherever you need it.
v0.25.6Fixed
Long clinical notes finish in full
Detailed clinical notes and letters no longer stop partway through on longer appointments. Praxis now continues writing automatically until the note is complete, however long it needs to be.
v0.25.5New
Teach the transcriber your own words
You can now add your own words to the Voice Transcriber under "Customise words": drug brands you use, referral or clinic names, materials, anything it keeps getting wrong for you. They are added to the shared dental word list for your recordings only, so your transcripts get more accurate over time.
v0.25.4Fixed
Reliable microphone prompt when you start recording
When you start a recording, your browser now reliably asks for microphone access instead of occasionally failing with no prompt. If the microphone is blocked, you now get clear steps to turn it back on.
v0.25.3Improved
Sharper voice transcription and a quick reset
The transcriber now hears tooth positions like "upper right four" correctly, instead of running the words together.
Clinical notes now understand every common way of numbering teeth (UK, FDI and American), so the right tooth ends up in your notes.
A new "New recording" button clears the page for a fresh start, so you no longer have to reload to record again.
v0.25.2Improved
Clinical area polish, and less wasted AI allowance
The Clinical tabs now run in the order you work: Voice Transcriber, then Clinical Notes, then Patient Letters.
While recording you now see a live timer, and a gentle reminder appears if a recording runs past an hour, so a forgotten recorder never quietly eats your allowance.
Praxis now catches generations that would waste your allowance: notes or letters from a transcript of only a few words are stopped with a helpful message before any AI usage is spent.
v0.25.1Fixed
Voice Transcriber fixes
Fixed microphone access on the Voice Transcriber: the browser now asks for permission properly instead of silently blocking.
It is clearer that the whole flow happens on one page: record, review the live transcript, and generate clinical notes right there, with a simple three-step guide before you start.
v0.25.0New
The new Clinical area, with in-app voice recording in beta
A new Clinical section in the sidebar brings your AI tools together: Clinical Notes, Patient Letters, and the brand-new Voice Transcriber, all as tabs in one place.
The Voice Transcriber (beta) records your appointment and shows the transcript live, tuned for dental terminology, then turns it into structured clinical notes in one click. It is a work in progress, so read and correct everything it produces. Praxis stores no audio and no transcript.
Recording draws on the same monthly AI allowance as your letters and notes, charged by how long you record for.
v0.24.1Fixed
Cleaner clinical notes when you paste them
Copying a generated letter or set of clinical notes and pasting it into your practice software no longer adds big blank gaps between the lines. It now pastes tidily, spaced as you would expect.
v0.24.0New
Top up your AI allowance, and a bigger allowance on every plan
Monthly AI allowances are bigger across every plan, so you can write more letters and prep more calls before you run low.
Running low? At 90% used you will now see your options: move up a plan for a bigger monthly allowance, or top up.
Topped-up allowance carries over to the following month if you do not use it, and lasts for a year. Your normal monthly allowance still resets on the 1st.
The usage bar now counts any top-up you have, so it always shows what you can actually still use.
v0.23.4Fixed
Longer letters finish in full
Longer Patient Letters no longer stop partway through. On Advanced there is now plenty of room to finish a detailed letter in full.
v0.23.3Fixed
Edit your letters and notes, and no more cut-offs
You can now edit a generated Patient Letter or set of Clinical Notes directly. Tap Edit on the result to tweak the wording yourself, then Preview to see it formatted.
Fixed longer letters and notes sometimes stopping partway through. They now have the room to finish in full.
v0.23.2New
Choose Simple or Advanced for letters and notes
When you generate a Patient Letter or Clinical Notes, you can now choose Simple or Advanced. Simple is faster and uses less of your monthly AI allowance, ideal for everyday recalls and follow-ups; Advanced is our best writing for longer or more sensitive documents. Your choice is remembered, and you can set your default in Settings.
v0.23.1Improved
Morning Breakdown for new accounts
Not connected a practice yet? Your Morning Breakdown now shows you how to get set up: it takes about 60 seconds, and once done, Praxis is permanently ready with your numbers every morning.
v0.23.0New
Your Morning Breakdown
A daily email at 4am with your month so far: gross and your share, how it compares to this point last month, conversion, unbooked patients, target progress and what your team actioned overnight, opened with a one-line AI summary of your day ahead.
It is on for everyone with a connected practice, and entirely yours to control: toggle it in Settings, or use the "Manage email preferences" link in the email to switch it off or pause it for 7, 14 or 30 days while you are away.
v0.22.1Improved
Polish across the site
A refreshed public roadmap that reflects what has already shipped, a faster-loading landing page, and a round of small copy and demo improvements across Praxis.
v0.22.0New
Flag your top-priority patients for the team
New "Request action" button on the Patients list: flag a patient (with an optional note) and they pin to a red "Action requested" section at the top of your team's list. Reserve it for the most time-sensitive or highest-value cases so a flag always means priority.
The team can mark each request actioned, and a flag clears automatically when the patient is marked Contacted, Booked or Not interested. Everything is logged in the patient's history.
Also: adding a practice without Dentally is now clearly zero-risk. If the practice uses Dentally you can switch to the automatic connection later and all your imported history carries over.
v0.21.1Improved
Letters and notes paste in cleanly
Copying notes or a letter now pastes cleanly everywhere: tidy plain text into Dentally, SOE and other practice software (no more stray asterisks), and proper formatting into Word, Google Docs or an email. One Copy button does both.
The Google Docs button now explains itself: it copies your letter and opens a new doc, with a clear prompt to paste. Stored letters on the Patients page also display with proper formatting now.
v0.21.0New
You control your team's AI usage
Set an AI allowance share for each team member, a cap for the whole team, or a daily brake for yourself, all from the Team page. When someone reaches their share, AI features pause for them and you get an alert on your dashboard.
AI usage is now always shown as a simple % of your monthly allowance, and when you are past halfway the usage bar estimates when you would reach 100% at your recent pace.
v0.20.21Fixed
Small fixes
The sidebar now highlights the right section when you are on Chair Time, Patient Letters or Clinical Notes.
Tidied the wording in the emails Praxis sends, and replies to any of them now reach a real person.
v0.20.20Improved
Sidebar polish
Section labels in the sidebar now only appear when a section has more than one item, so the menu reads cleaner.
v0.20.19Improved
Everything about your patients, in one place
Patient Letters and Clinical Notes now live inside the Patients area as tabs, so all your patient tools sit together in one place.
Chair Time is now a tab within Finances, right where you weigh up your earning time.
The sidebar is simpler again: Dashboard, then Patient Management, Finances, My Progress (your CPD, with more to come), Account and Help.
v0.20.18Improved
A tidier sidebar, and call prep fixed
The sidebar is now grouped into the things you use every day, the things you visit now and then, and your account and help pages, so finding your way around is quicker.
Team management now lives inside Settings, one obvious place for everything about your account.
Fixed: "Prep my call" works again. Sorry about the brief wobble after yesterday's update.
v0.20.17Improved
Call prep and letters now stay put, and cost you less
Your AI call prep is now saved with the patient. Come back any time and it is right there, no need to regenerate, and your whole team sees the same prep when they make the calls.
Edits you make to a generated letter now save automatically, so your receptionist always sees your final wording from the Patients page, not the first draft.
Call prep now runs on a faster, more economical model behind the scenes, so your monthly AI allowance goes noticeably further.
v0.20.16Improved
A fresher demo, a faster way to get your beta key
The live demo now always opens on a full month of sample data, so you see Praxis at its best whatever the date.
Requesting beta access? You can now add your Instagram handle and we can DM your key if the email does not reach you.
Fixed: leaving the optional name blank no longer blocks your beta access request.
A refreshed "Meet the founder" story on the landing page, plus small polish across beta emails and sign-in protection.
v0.20.15Fixed
Calmer, more accurate figures at the start of the month
Early in the month, before your appointments and income have come through, Praxis no longer raises false alarms. It waits until there is enough data before flagging a rising lost-appointment or dipping conversion rate, and your Gross Earnings now shows a gentle "this month's income is still coming in" note instead of a misleading drop.
v0.20.14Improved
Remove a manual practice
You can now remove a practice you added without Dentally, straight from the Practices page. Your imported history is kept, and you can add it back any time.
v0.20.13New
Upgrade a manual practice to a live Dentally connection
Added a practice without Dentally and later got the go-ahead to connect it directly? You can now upgrade it to a live Dentally connection right from the Practices page. Praxis keeps everything you have already imported: your past months stay on your pay statements, Dentally takes over for the months ahead, and you end up with one practice instead of a duplicate.
v0.20.12Improved
A tidier shareable stats card
The shareable stats card now shows a clean whole-number percentage, and the headline figure always stays neatly inside the card, whatever the number.
v0.20.11Improved
A sharper Patients list and tighter team controls
Outstanding Treatment Value now fills in automatically on your Patients list, so you can see at a glance who has planned work still to book, with no clicking required. You can still type in your own figure for any patient.
Sort your Patients list by outstanding value, highest first, to focus on the biggest opportunities to follow up.
Marked someone "Do not contact" by mistake? They now appear in a clearly labelled section you can reopen, and switching their status back brings them straight to your active list.
Team owners can now tap any team member to see exactly what their role can do and switch individual permissions off. You can only ever reduce a role below its defaults, never add more, keeping each person's access tight.
v0.20.10New
See what each patient still has outstanding
Your Patients list now shows an approximate Outstanding Treatment Value (treatment that is planned but not yet done) for each patient: pulled live from Dentally where available, with a quick figure you can type in by hand for any patient. Available on Multi and Pro.
v0.20.9Improved
Clinical notes that fit the appointment
When you generate clinical notes, you can now tell the AI whether it is an examination, review or treatment appointment, and it frames the notes to match.
v0.20.8New
Join the Praxis Beta community
Beta testers can now join our WhatsApp Community: a one-time invite when you log in, a link and QR code in Settings, and a link in your beta-key email. It is the fastest route for support, sharing suggestions that shape Praxis, and giving feedback on features.
v0.20.7New
Add patients to your list by hand
You can now add patients to your Patients list yourself by Patient ID. They appear in your Outstanding list with notes, tags and AI letters, exactly like synced ones, so practices that are not on Dentally get a working list too.
Praxis stays Patient-ID-only: a one-time confirmation reminds you to enter a Patient ID, never a name or other identifiable details.
v0.20.6Improved
Find your UDA settings faster
No UDA data on your dashboard? If you do NHS work, a quick hint now points you to Finances settings to set a practice to NHS or Mixed and add your UDA target.
v0.20.5Improved
UDA targets on your dashboard, easier setup help
If you do NHS work, your UDA target progress now shows on your dashboard too, not just in Finances, so you can see at a glance whether you are ahead of or behind pace for the year.
Stuck connecting a practice? The setup help now opens a support ticket with the Praxis team right in the app, so we can pick it up and reply without you leaving Praxis.
v0.20.4Improved
Getting set up is simpler
New here? A friendly Getting Started welcome now walks you straight to connecting your first practice.
The easiest way to connect Dentally, asking your Practice Manager to do it for you, is now the main option on the Practices page, with the do-it-yourself route kept as a backup.
Adding a practice connection from Settings now takes you to the Practices page, so every connection lives in one place.
v0.20.3Fixed
Chair Time chart fix
The daily breakdown chart on the Chair Time page now renders properly, so you can see your booked vs idle time across the month at a glance.
v0.20.2Security
Extra layer on your data privacy
Strengthened the database isolation that keeps each dentist's numbers private, with an added safeguard so the app refuses to start if that protection is ever misconfigured.
Added standard browser security headers across the site.
v0.20.1Improved
Smarter patient letters
Patient letters and "Prep my call" now factor in the Notes and Status your team has left on a patient, so a drafted follow-up reflects what you already know about them, not just their appointment history.
v0.20.0Improved
Clearer treatment insights
The £/hour by treatment table can now be viewed per practice as well as across all of them, so you can compare where your time earns most at each site.
Clearer labels on the Treatment tab: Gross £/hour, Typical Treatment Fee, and Target Gross £ per Hour.
The Treatment tab now states plainly that it covers private treatment only, NHS treatment is excluded.
v0.19.0Security
Quiet security hardening
Added rate limiting to sign-in, sign-up, password reset and the AI tools, so the service stays fast and protected against abuse.
Every time a practice connection is used to talk to Dentally is now recorded in a private audit trail, so access is fully accountable.
v0.18.0New
Staying in touch during the beta
When you sign up or join the beta waitlist, we will keep you posted on the beta and new features by email. You can unsubscribe any time from any email.
v0.17.0Security
Trust, in one place
A new Trust & Security page laying out exactly how your data, and your patients’, is protected: data minimisation, EU hosting, encryption, row-level isolation, and every provider we rely on.
The Data Processing Agreement and Terms are now linked from the site footer alongside the Privacy Policy.
You can now download the Data Processing Agreement as a PDF for your records.
Our registered company details now appear at the foot of every page.
v0.16.0Improved
Make sense of your expenses
Two more expense categories, Insurance and Finance fees, and friendlier names on the Expenses by Category chart.
Tap any category to see exactly which expenses are inside it (no more mystery “Other”).
Re-tag an expense to a different category right there from a dropdown.
Dark mode polish, and your conversion target now shows as a clear figure-vs-target instead of a confusing bar.
v0.15.0New
Targets, nudges and a clearer day
Set monthly income and conversion targets and watch your progress against them right on the dashboard.
A new Chair time view shows how much of your day is booked versus idle gaps between appointments.
Smart in-app nudges flag things worth a look, like a rise in cancellations or patients due a follow-up.
A quick getting-started checklist for new accounts, plus tidier CSV and Word exports.
v0.14.0New
A simpler way to get in touch
A new Contact page: pick a subject, type your question, and attach a screenshot or document if it helps, no more digging out an email address.
v0.13.0Security
Stronger data protection
Clear Terms of Service and a Data Processing Agreement you accept up front, so the agreement covering your data, and your patients’, is properly in place.
Cookie controls: Praxis uses only essential cookies, and you’re now in control of anything beyond that.
Praxis is now operated by our registered UK company, Praxis Health Technologies Ltd.
v0.12.0Improved
Patients, notes and your team
Patient notes now follow the patient everywhere: a note you add in Follow-Ups shows on that patient in Potential Leads too, and the other way round.
A new “Last 30 days not rebooked” filter to zero in on the most recent patients worth a call, plus a running total on each list.
Lost Appointments now works for your whole team (nurses, receptionists, practice managers), not just you.
AI letters and call-prep now work for your team members too, drawing on your plan’s monthly allowance.
Suggestions board: like ideas, leave comments, and see when we’ve actioned or declined one.
v0.11.0New
Try Praxis before you sign up
Explore a full, populated Praxis (dashboard, finances, follow-ups, CPD and more) instantly, with no sign-up and no Dentally needed. Just tap “Try the live demo”.
It uses sample data and is read-only, so you can click around freely and see exactly what you’d get.
v0.10.0New
Easier onboarding, and a home for practice managers
Connect a practice without chasing codes: send your Practice Manager a secure link and they connect you in a couple of clicks, picking you from the dentist list by name.
A verification word shows on both screens, so your manager knows the request really came from you.
Two-factor login with an authenticator app, for extra security.
A new “For PMs” section on our site that answers the questions practice managers ask most.
v0.9.0New
Plan ahead, and track your CPD
Projected income on your dashboard: your likely earnings for the rest of the financial year and the next 12 months.
A new CPD area: upload your certificates and Praxis fills in the title, GDC outcome and hours, tracks your 5-year cycle, and exports to CSV.
“Log me out everywhere” in Settings, for when you’ve left yourself signed in on a practice computer.
v0.8.0Improved
Hours, hourly rate, and a clearer Finances
See your hours worked and your real £/hour, gross and net.
Set an annual UDA target and watch your progress against it.
Finances rebuilt around your pay statement, with one simple “All Practices & Income” view.
v0.7.0New
NHS UDAs, fairer splits, and treatment insight
Track your NHS UDAs and UDA income.
Set a sliding-scale associate split, as well as a flat percentage.
A Treatment tab showing your treatment mix, plus saveable AI prompts and one-tap export to Word or Google Docs.
v0.6.0New
Tax tools, manual practices, and stronger privacy
A clearer “tax to set aside” guide (income tax and NI, self-employed vs limited company) and a QuickBooks export.
Add a practice that doesn’t use Dentally, and keep it updated by importing your pay statement.
Praxis now stores only a Patient ID, never patient names or contact details.
A fresh look, dark mode, and the new Praxis logo.
v0.5.0New
Follow-ups, AI letters, and the private beta
Follow-Ups simplified into one clear list per practice, with AI-drafted patient letters and call-prep notes.
Fair monthly AI allowances, so your costs stay predictable.
Praxis opened as an invite-only private beta.
v0.4.0New
Your Dentally data, automatically
Connect a practice with a read-only token and Praxis imports your earnings, to the penny.
A redesigned dashboard: 12-month earnings chart, gross/net toggle, financial-year view, and a one-tap privacy mode.
Net earnings done properly: your split, minus your expenses.
v0.3.0Improved
Sign-in made easy
Sign in with Google, and reset your password by email.
v0.2.0Security
Locked-down security
Your data is sealed at the database level: only you, and people you invite, can ever see it.
An admin area with a full audit trail, and no access to anyone’s finances or patient data.
v0.1.0Launch
The first build
Praxis came to life: your dashboard, finances, follow-up lists, practice connections and team access.
