Praxis runs your month end: gross per clinician, lab bills and expenses allocated and approved, every statement priced on its own terms and signed off, then kept for good.
The problem
Gross per dentist from the practice system, lab invoices from a pile, the split from a contract in a drawer, and a spreadsheet that has to be right for every clinician, every month.
A dentist queries a crown they say was not theirs, or a share they did not agree. It surfaces after the statement has gone out, and it costs goodwill on both sides.
Associates need their statements for accountants, mortgages and tax returns, and they ask the practice manager, who goes looking through email.
Praxis was built inside a practice doing exactly this. See how it runs the month
Built for the practice manager who does it and the owner who signs it.
Gross per clinician arrives from Dentally through a read-only key, or your manager types it in. Praxis applies each clinician's own terms, the base split, the category rates such as implant work, the expense shares, the UDA rate where there is one, and drafts every statement for the site in one go. The totalling is gone.
A lab or component invoice is read by Praxis, matched to the clinician with the confidence shown, and confirmed by your manager. The clinician then approves or queries each item with their share visible, before the month is drafted. A queried item holds the statement until it is settled, so the disagreement happens once, in the app, with the invoice attached.
Each clinician has their own Praxis account with every statement your practice has ever signed off, as a PDF generated from the frozen figures, plus the deductions behind it. Statements from before Praxis can be uploaded by your manager, so the record is complete. Nobody emails the practice manager for last March again.
A statement is drafted, sent to the clinician, approved, submitted by your practice manager and signed off by an administrator or multi-practice manager, with each step recorded against a name. At sign-off the terms it was priced on are snapshotted into it, so it reads the same in five years as it does today. A finalised statement cannot be quietly edited afterwards.
How the month runs
From Dentally through your read-only key, or typed in by your manager for a site without it.
Lab and component invoices read, matched to a clinician, confirmed. Your Xero bills can be the source.
Each item, with their share shown. A query holds the statement until it is settled.
Every clinician at the site, priced on their own terms, in one press.
Frozen, in the audit log, and on the clinician's own account with a PDF.
Your associates see the result on their own account, the moment it is signed.
What Praxis looks like from the associate's sideWhere Praxis is up to
There is no billing in Praxis. No card, no plan, no credits, and no price has been set for practices. If that changes it will be said plainly, in advance, and never by surprise.
Praxis is live at a multi-site group and has been the system of record for its associate pay since September 2026, with statements signed off on it and matched to the penny against the practice's own figures.
Praxis connects to Xero to read your lab bills, and exports a Xero-ready bills CSV at month end. Pushing finalised statements straight into Xero as bills is being built now.
Pay data and patient data are both sensitive. Praxis was designed around that from day one.
The database and document storage are hosted by Supabase in an EU region and the application by Vercel in an EU region. Every provider that touches data is named in the Privacy Policy.
Your practice is the controller and Praxis Health Technologies Ltd the processor under a UK GDPR Article 28 agreement, published on this site in full. What patient data is held is written down: names and treatment references from billing records, never contact details or dates of birth, and a clinician's consultation transcripts for 30 days, encrypted and visible only to them.
Administrator, multi-practice manager, practice manager and reception each see what their role needs and nothing more. Reception never sees a share or a net. A practice manager acts on their own site only.
Allocations, approvals, adjustments, contract changes and sign-offs are written to an audit log with who did it and when, readable by the owner on the Settings page.
Praxis reads your practice system through a token you issue and only ever reads. Nothing is written back to your practice system. The token is encrypted at rest with AES-256-GCM and is never shown back to anyone, Praxis staff included. Praxis decrypts it on its server only to call Dentally.
Every table denies API access by default; the application reaches the database through one restricted role. Two-factor sign-in is available for every staff account.

Questions owners ask
No. With Dentally, gross per clinician arrives on its own through a read-only key. Without it, your practice manager enters gross per clinician per month and everything else is the same.
They press Query on that item, with a comment, and your manager sees it at once. The statement is held until the item is settled, so the disagreement is resolved before anything is signed, with the invoice attached to the conversation.
No. They approve or query the items allocated to them and they approve or query the drafted statement. The figures are worked out by Praxis from the terms you set, and once signed off the statement is frozen for everyone, the owner included.
Your manager can upload the statements you issued before, per clinician, from their profile page. They appear on the clinician's account marked as uploaded by the practice, so their record is complete from day one.
Your practice creates their accounts, or invites a clinician who already has a Praxis account of their own. A clinician can also approve their items and their statement from an emailed review link with no account at all, if they prefer.
A conversation first. We set up your organisation, sites and clinicians with you, put each clinician's terms in, and run your first month alongside your existing process so you can compare the two to the penny before you rely on it.
Want to see it before you decide?
Happy to walk you and your practice manager through a month end, on your own figures, with no obligation.

The story behind Praxis
Praxis was built by Dr Syed Ali, a UK associate dentist working across several practices, and the pay side of it was built with the practice that pays him: a multi-site group whose month end was a week of spreadsheets, lab invoices and questions.
Syed worked in tech roles whilst juggling dental school, and built software products alongside his training. In 2022 he stepped away from tech to focus fully on dentistry, from restorative care through to implant surgery.
He is on both sides of the statement: the associate who wants it right, and the developer who built the thing that makes it right. Praxis has run that group's associate pay since September 2026, and the first statement it signed off matched the practice's own figures to the penny.
